Real Cloth Diaper Week. Real Diapers. Real Simple.

April 16 - 21, 2012

Real cloth diapering will be celebrated around the globe the week of April 16, 2012. The theme for the first annual international week long celebration is Real Diapers. Real Simple. There will be daily fun spirited activities focused on highlighting the benefits of using real diapers.

The week will conclude on Saturday, April 21 with the 2nd annual Great Cloth Diaper Change where we will attempt to break the 2011 Guinness World Record of 5,026 cloth diaper changes happening simultaneously.

Join the premiere stroller fitness program geared for prenatal and post-partum women to experience a safe and effective total body workout. Each class consists of cardio, strength training, core work, and stretching. All levels are welcome and our certified trainers can modify all exercises to meet your needs. A redeemable deposit of $15 per family, for up to 2 people is required. Laundering Diapers at Home

Saturdays 3:30 - 4:30pm

Learn the tips and tricks of laundering diapers at home including diaper type and fabric content and the role they play in the laundry process. We will cover how to avoid detergent residue and what to do if it happens as well as how to deal with ammonia odors. A redeemable deposit of $15 per family, for up to 2 people is required. This class fee is redeemable towards either a boutique purchase or your diaper service account at the conclusion of the workshop. Space is limited.

Potty Training Support Group

First Friday of each month, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM

This complimentary, drop in, facilitated group is for parents who are potty training or thinking about potty training. Whether you're looking for new ideas, a place to vent or are about to start and have no idea where to begin, please feel free to join. Children are welcome.  We also recommend attending our potty awareness or potty training class which we offer monthly on Saturdays. See below for the dates.

Potty Awareness Workshop

Saturdays 1 - 2pm (Newborn to 13 months)

We will discuss why introducing the potty as early as 6-months of age is a logical approach. The curriculum is drawn from the book, Diaper Free Before 3 by Dr. Jill Lekovic and is recommended for parents of babies 13 months or younger. A redeemable deposit of $15 per family, for up to 2 people is required. Potty Training Workshop

Saturdays 2:15 - 3:15pm (13 months & up)

This workshop is geared to give you the tools you need to begin the potty training process. The curriculum is drawn from the book, Diaper Free Before 3 by Dr. Jill Lekovic and is recommended for parents of babies 13 months or older. A redeemable deposit of $15 per family, for up to 2 people is required. Baby Sign

3:00 - 4:15pm

This introductory workshop teaches everything you need to know to get started with the Baby Signs® Program. You will learn:
· how to begin signing with your baby
· effective ways to begin teaching signs at home
· easy ways to use signs in daily routines
· what to expect as your baby transitions from signs to speech

Designed for parents with children ages birth to 2 years. This class includes a Baby Signs® Kit to make signing with your baby fun and easy at home. Kit contents include: Parent Guide to Baby Signs® Program, DVD, Signs at a Glance Flipper & Baby Signs® Board Books. This class will be taught by Jenny Wagner, an Independent Certified Instructor. Early bird price is $65 (1 week prior workshop), regular price is $70. Add $10 for spouse/partner/grandparent.

Itty Bitty Imprint Event

Itty Bitty Imprints crafts ceramic tiles that are imprinted, glazed, and fired, creating a unique keepsake to display in your nursery, home, or office. Please call Tiny Tots to reserve a spot.

Car Seat Inspection Event

Fridays 9am - Noon

Safe Kids Santa Clara/San Mateo and Tiny Tots are partnering to hold Car Seat inspection events. On car seat inspection days, a percentage of in-store boutique sales is donated to Safe Kids. A fully refundable deposit of $15 is required. Space is limited and reservations are required.

Ask The Experts by BABI (Bay Area Birth Info)

Thursdays 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Ask the Experts is a panel discussion for expectant parents, those planning to be parents, and those interested in the current birth climate in the Bay Area. Come listen to a Midwife, OB, Lactation Specialist and other birth professionals and ask questions. Will you have a "Mother Friendly" childbirth? Each month our panel list will feature different professionals from a range of fields.

Diaper Free Mom's Group

First Thursday of each month, Noon - 2:00 pm

Are you interested in practicing or finding out more about elimination communication (aka infant hygiene, infant potty training)?   This Diaper Free Group is open to anyone. Dues are not collected.  The meetings consist of a monthly theme and lots of sharing and talking about what's working along with the different phases that our children experience as we help them and us to become more aware of their elimination needs and routines.  You do not need to register to attend.

Infant CPR - Birth to 1 Year

Saturdays Noon to 2:00pm

New and expectant parents learn skills in this two hour class that will enable them to recognize basic infant emergencies such as sudden respiratory/cardiac arrest and choking, and how to respond to them. Students participate in hands-on practice using infant mannequins. This is a non-certification class. Taught by Jane Folena, Pediatric RN, Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR Instructor, and neonatal resuscitation instructor. $75 per couple (2 people) or $45 per person.

Baby Wearing One on One

Schedule a One on One with our baby wearing expert and learn the differences between slings, wraps, soft carriers and structured carriers. Enjoy practice time in the comfort of an expert.

Diaper Service 101 One on One

You'll learn how easy it is to use a cotton diaper. We'll also explain how diaper service works, including our cotton, compost and combination services.
